Education
One of the major Facilities which Aftercare (North West) UK are proud to offer the young people in their care, is the provision of a first-rate and well-equipped education department which covers all Key Stages. Students have the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects, including English, Math’s, History, geography and PHSE, Many of which can be taken at GCSE or Basic Skills Level.
More recently, the company has forged strong links with a local work-experience provider (Southport Education Business Link) who, whilst working with a number of mainstream schools, has built up connections with numerous employers in the secretarial, retail and industrial sectors who are willing to provide Year 10 pupils with valuable work experience.
Each placement provider is thoroughly CRB checked along with all aspects of Health and Safety and SEBL also monitor each individual placement during the placement period.
This in turn provides Aftercare (North West) UK's Yp's with unique window of opportunity into life outside the residential care system and the world of work as well as helping to prepare them for the day when they become independent.
Apart from in-house classroom tuition, the company are also please to offer its YP's in its care the chance to take part in extra-curricular activities which have been as diverse as ice-skating in Blackburn to visits to Liverpool's two cathedrals and trip's to Martin Mere Wetland centre, Knowsley Safari Park and Liverpool's Maritime Museum to explore the city's links with the slave trade
